I have received information from a reliable source that it is possible to have scored poorly on one specific test and still pass, so if you have done well on the other tests perhaps you will still make it through

I understand how it can be frustrating, but look on the bright side, you have had a valuable experience which will very most likely aid you in the future. With other companies that have different processes for recruitment you would probably not even be invited due to your low experience!
I would rather be invited to 10 assessments or interviews with high pass-standards and fail due to lack of experience than to not even be invited in the first place!
A question for you guys: if you pass the DLR and get to the sim-assessment, is there also an interview the same day? This is what I understood from reading this thread, but I am not sure anymore as it seems there isn't.
