Jane, please do a modicum of research before clogging up these pages with nonsense questions.
I remember in a google search awhile back a mention of a turbocharger was mentioned in regards to the F6F; I assumed the F4U would have one too as they were both designed around the same engine and both exhibited high performance. As an interesting note, if you did a wikipedia search you would find that the XF6F-2
did indeed have a turbocharger, but it was dropped in favor of a twin-speed supercharger.
(Regardless, I probably should have read the article about the F6F more carefully awhile back)
