It is a shame, but if it’s your dream don’t let it put you off! Spend a few hours on this forum and talk to guys who are airline pilots. If that doesn’t inspire you I don’t know what will! Every person I have spoken to has a different and very interesting story (although you do inevitably hear some disheartening ones).
I have decided to go down the modular route because it’s the only way I will be able to afford to fund my training. I suppose different ways of training and funding works for different people, but it certainly is a shame that this industry seems to be dominated by your bank balance.
