A couple of points on this
Most people seem to have made an assumption that RE would automatically have both re-tendered for and won the PSO's when they became available. While the former was likely, the latter was not a certainty by any means.
That said, the PSO's were reckoned to be worth €13m per year to RE, their revenue in 2010 was reported as being circa €61m.
IMHO, if they get it right with the Aer Lingus Regional operations they could recover the revenue in 2 years.
