Seriously.......there needs to be a public inquiry, how can the people who have made these decisions get away with this scandalous public waste? Not only in monetary terms but people losing their jobs and livelihoods.
More importantly for the country as a whole, loosing the capability
Nimrod was not only about sub hunting and SAR, the aircraft, and extremely highly trained crews, were involved in far more than that - and for the past decade, and more, the 'other' roles were in such demand (by the many agencies that utilised the aircraft) that far more hours were spent flying them that ASW or SAR.
An absolute disgrace
