Not going to theorise here but just a little food for thought. MAS operated to KCH for years using DHC6, F27, F50, B737 and A300B4 before the runway was extended as did SQ with the A310 and AAI with the B743 for Hajj operations. All of the above's safety records were pretty good. Statistically based on number of years of operation versus number of flight to KCH MAS are light years ahead in the safety of operation. Throw in different aircraft types operated and well you don't need to be a rocket scientist to see the numbers.
