Early Jurassic did not have auto-throttle. Easiest way is to disconnect auto-pilot, select TOGA on the F/D simultaneously apply thrust manually (if you are only going to 1500ft about 1.8 EPR is enough), pitching up to desired attitude, retract flap to 15, gear up then flap retract as per the schedule. If engine-out you will be at flap 15 with flap 15 Vref (+ additive) and can go straight to flap 1.
Support pilot should reset and arm altsel. Anticipate level off and start reducing thrust to hold speed back to 210/220 kts with 200 ft to go. When level and in trim, re-engage autopilot. Easy that way, tricky trying to get Jurassic automatics to play. Also easy without F/D. There is no level change mode on the early ones; when the autopilot is engaged you still have to fly CWS pitch, so you may as well fly the whole thing manually until sorted out.
Later ones did have auto-throttle, LVL CHG etc and can be flown much the same as the classic, TOGA prompting the speed bug to advance with each flap retraction stage.
Regardless of model, at recurrent simulator it's a good idea to a couple of missed approaches manually and with no F/D guidance, against the day when it all goes tilt in the real aeroplane.
