The really daft bit about this article and all the others is that BALPA (British Airline Pilots Association) have organised media reps to be available for when the press need insight into things. These volunteers are current pilots that have up to date firsthand knowledge of the various parts of our industry, from North Sea helicopters to long haul fixed wing. I know one of them and he is a captain on the 225 on the North Sea, with many years experience to boot but he has yet to be asked ANY questions.

Whether the press know about this or fully understand the asset they can use I don't know but BALPA are taking a proactive approach to sort misinformation like this.
