In my days out East it was customary to zap RAAF aircraft by adding a ball and chain to the kangaroo's leg. The Ozzies didn't like it for some reason.
Many years later, long after I'd returned to civilian life, a RAAF Canberra came through Bandar Seri Begawan and parked overnight outside our hangar. In the morning it had the customary ball and chain. When it returned from Manila a couple of days later the kangaroo had been paroled, so I put another shackle on it for the return to Darwhine.
