You will get/have to take the 100 question CAAC ATP written, which is similar to the FAA one, as are the Chinese regs which even use the same parts, Part 67 for medical standards, for example. Then a medical for the medical certificate, then a check ride in the sim or airplane.

They really are not converting your FAA to CAAC, but they are accepting your flight time and experience based on the FAA certificate that you hold. Otherwise they would have to show/give you the full initial ground school for the type of plane to be flown, but since it is on your FAA certificate, you are considered current and qualified. So all they do is the CAAC type rating, which will then count as your first PC for the company, so you can essentially start flying right away.
