With all this snow and cancellations its too early to say whether LDY will have seen a passenger increase or decrease this year.

November's provisional figuires indicate on a rolling year basis a 3.4% passenger reduction. That's not as bad as it seems given the double digit reductions of the last year and indeed the last few months have even shown an increase. So it looks like the aviation problems might be bottoming out at LDY at least.

On the plus side, LDY looks like it will have risen from 30th busiest in the UK to position 29 with airport 28 (Norwich) now doing less than LDY did at its peak in 2008 and so within striking distance.

During the credit crunch / aviation crisis / recession LDY has leapfrogged Blackpool, Durham Tees Valley, Humberside and Newquay.
