In theory an Aberdeen flight could work as Aberdeen has some 3 million pax per annum. In practice however LDY hasn't been able to sustain even EDI or MAN on a few occasions, nor BRS with Ryanair, nor a second London route (nor even a proper schedule to a single London airport).
Until that can be put right, what is the future for the airport?
