Is it true they set the sim up out of trim to make it harder?
I doubt that very much, the Dash requires a lot of trim movement when you adjust power in order to keep in balance, the sim even more so than the real thing. So you should associate any power change with a trim change. They are not trying to trick you in the sim (they save that for the Cyclics later
) that would defeat the purpose of the sim exercise.
You should be sent an information pack on the sim with power and attitude settings, if you can nail those settings in the sim it will be a whole lot easier. Just like in flight school:
Power + Attitude = Performance.
