As an apprentice (remember those?), started out with a James Captain which got rebuilt monthly, then a Royal Oilfield Continental Super 5 which regularly dumped all the engine oil over the rear wheel; made for interesting handling when on the newly opened M1!
Followed by a fallow period of some 40 years when my dear wife, noticing I was reading MCN & watching Moto GP bought me a one day refresher course; the rest as they say is history. Now a fully qualified BAMBI, starting with a Suzuki 500GT followed by a BMW K1100Lt SE and now downsizing to a BMW F650CS belt drive which is all my back will allow me to handle these days!
PS: Oh, I nearly forgot the Triumph T140 V, 750cc engine sitting in my backyard waiting to be rebuilt & shoehorned into that imaginary Triton for a 'burnup' to the Ace!!!:
