Just to clear up a few incorrect posts here about the Cork ACE flight on the 16th. I was on this flight... We were diverted to Porto and were there exactly 2 hours while they waited for a new flight plan and fuel. The fuel truck took about 1.5 hours to come.
We then left for ACE and as we were making our approach the captain came on and said the winds were too high at the moment and we had enough fuel to hold for 18 minutes. If we could not land then we would have to go to Fuertaventura.
We landed in Fuertaventuea and got a text from Aer Lingus immediately saying we would be put up in a hotel and leave for ACE at 11 am the next day. We were taken to a good hotel and picked up after breakfast the next day and flew over to Lanzarote.
There were no go arounds or other dramatics that were mentioned earlier. It was handled very well. The only thing I was curious about is other flights seemed to land in ACE that night...
