Used to play in a backing band for a singerist and we all wore black so we were sort of subdued in the stage lights whilst the warbler stood in the spotlights. I coincidentally at the time favoured an all black guitar as well. When a mate of mine had been to see us he commented that all he could see was a disembodied hand on the fretboard of the guitar, just like Thing off the Addams Family. The rest is history.
