Chuckles which is how I obtained mine. Used to shoot every Saturday when I could. Felt it was a handy thing to have available just in case some raskol decided that I may have had something that he would like to have for himself.
Thankfully that possibility never eventuated, at least whilst I was there anyway.
I do remember though that when I enquired about having a pistol for my 'survival kit' I was told that you could no longer do that. When I asked why I was told that some 'very silly Talair pilots' (The actual words used!
) had been shooting their pistols off the balcony of their residence at various things and the Firearms branch of the PNG Constabulary viewed these actions as 'a bit naughty.' (Also the actual words used)
