I agree, "Baggers" was head and shoulders above any other Boss I've worked for
And the RAF would be much worse off should he resign, I never got the impression he was after anything but that which his charges needed to get the job done.
I certainly worker harder for him than his predecessor or successor.
The article seems to me to be a Senior Officer gently reminding the defence press exactly how much the RAF has lost and the dangers of giving up more.
