Pfft I'm sure we could get ourselves down to no fast jets if enough export customers came along for them. I mean post Afghanistan we won't need them for anything will we? When was the last time we needed a fast jet to do anything important in the UK? Anyway, we have a squadron or 2 of F15's - they can do all that for us! Same with helicopters. Or Sentinel. Or Shadow. Or MPA. In fact, what need will we have for an air force? We can just get the Americans or French to help us out with that sort of thing, can't we!
