far cry from the single ADF and fixed card thingamajig in the Talair "IFR" balus's.
Reminds me of when a new Pommie avionics engineer arrived in Lae. Everyone was wondering why, with avionics tech's in such high demand, this bloke would come to PNG. We soon found out.
Said engineer spent his days drinking coffee and smoking, but mainly complaining about how busy he was (from the comfort of the couch in the crew room). If he owned any tools (doubtful) they certainly never were going to get worn out.
After repeated (and unsuccessful) requests to take a look at the single Narco ADF in several 402's and Islanders, he pinned a notice to the board in the crew room stating "......all ADF's will be fixed before the onset of the wet season...." to which a certain pilot added the words "...a memo listing all rainy days for the next 12 months will be issued shortly.."
