@EISNN:

Depends on your point of view. Do the crew really want to disrupt passengers by getting flights cancelled. they could easily do this if they wanted. How about a 'green flu'? EI staff do not want to disrupt pax they want to disrupt the company.

The cabin crew work to rule is aiming to show the company that their exisitng rules are not the problem,but that the inefficient rostering system is. EI claim they have to abolish ALL existing rules and 'produce' a new set. They also claim that the LRC document supports this view (LRC doc says "rewrite black book rules for mutual clarity........this SHALL NOT be a new negotiation process" LRC emphasis not mine)

So if the cabin crew work to rule is not causing flight disruption why does the company need to abolish these 'not effective rules' that help the crew have better quality home time. At the end of the day getting the crew to reach the productivity is the goal. The LRC even allows for this by saying if the productivity target isn't reached in 3-6 months the LRC may advise additional changes to achieve the target. EI are pre-empting any possible LRC decision.

An example of possibilities could be to produce a roster up to the current schedule allows (ie. end of March) Surely a computerised roster could be allowed to compute more then 28 days if instructed to. After all the variables (aircraft/flights/crew) are the same until March 31 2011.
