BY operated these flights for Austravel until the late 90's when it became clear they couldn't compete with BA, QF, etc. I'm sure AIH also operated down to Oz but it was before my time there so can't give details.
BY B762's were config'd 274 seats in 2-4-2 (never more than 1 seat from the aisle was the proud claim!) which was reduced from the normal 290 seats. A/C were G-BRIF, G-BRIG, G-BYAA, G-BYAB, G-POPB and I think G-BNYS but I can't remember which ones did the Oz flights. Later flights were operated by the B763 in 326 config (reduced from 344).
PER, MEL, SYD were main destinations when I was there with 1 per week (I think) to AUK.
Normal stopping point in the Middle East was AUH but the far east varied between SIN, BTH and I think either KUL or BKK for a while.
Towards the end they were down to 2 flights per week which meant the crews were away for up to 4 weeks.

Sense of deja vu as we were sitting in a bar last week talking about this very subject!
