ATC_intrain, I think the moral of the story is don't count your chickens. We're assured there are plenty of applicants for training so on a purely statistical pluck it out of your @rse assessment for an "off the street" applicant it is well less than 10%. I stand to be well & truly corrected.
The fact you're here implies an interest so probably raises your chances, or you're a desperate wannabe
From personal observation those who fall into ATC by chance (so to speak) fare better than the those who really really want to do it. It's been a long time since I was directly involved with recruitment so weight my words accordingly.
