I'm not denying I paid a lot for my type rating, but the point I'm making now is my pay net (I do pay my tax) us still similar to flyby capt. Yes, the guys I know are captains that have switched to Ryanair. Probably because they didn't enjoy a ryr fo making more money then them.
In my case I joined ryr only owing 10k as I worked hard in full time employment while training. Ryr seemed like the best option for my case and only owing 40k with type rating and job seemed like a good career choice for my case.
Whichever way you look at it flybe would have been a significant pay cut fromthe job I was in, and while it shouldn't be all about money, I believe flyby pilots are under paid. You may still get your money with 20 hrs in the month, however even if I do 20 hours as briokfield I bet I end up with more. Last month I did 100 (yes we work our balls off).
On the flipside, don't critics ryr so much you may need them one day
