Of course we don't live in a fantasy world do we. It is 2010. Managers get rewarded based on how much money they can save.
Errm... No, actually, managers
should get paid based on their contribution to successfully meeting the company's strategic objectives. Which means a profit-driven mentality as distinct from a cost-cutting mentality. These are quite different things.
I've been around the world a lot and have never yet seen a business cost-cut it's way to success.
