The hours question is not an issue, all the BOH based pilots are now flying in other bases all around the network. The Captains ( All on FR Sterling contracts ) in the UK and the FOs ( Mostly Brookfield Euro contracts ) are mostly in BCN. Personally Iam working one month, paid leave one month, unpaid leave leave one month, now looking forward to the longest christmas holiday of my life followed by a return to BOH on 1st Feb.
One thing that has become apparent when flying from other bases is the depth of cuts to the flying programme over the winter. Most bases seem to be operating at 50% or less with loads of A/C only flying once per day. The winter slowdown is affecting all bases not just BOH.
To me this is sound planning and good business not just some plan to shaft the workforce or the airports.
