I'm wondering how easy it might be to effect a repair on the upper wing skin. The A380 uses a 111ft long, 4000kg single upper wing skin, the biggest ever. It'll be interesting to see what solutions the engineers at Filton have for this one.
My thoughts too - the headaches of the A380 universe just keep on keepin' on. Uncontained failure on a run of the mill, all-metal 737 - no big deal. On an A380 - potential economic catastrophe because the assembly line is already so clogged with existing work. The wing in particular is a huge manufacturing bottleneck. So who is going to repair it? That plane is going to sit for a long time.
This is a bad day for the A380. There have been many. They (Airbus) were warned.
