I wish journalists who don't really know what on earth they are talking about would comment on such matters. The ABC correspondent in Indonesia said on the radio this afternoon that the aircraft landed with part of the tail missing. He must have seen footage of the engine cowl with the roo on it and thought it was the tail section.
At least get your facts straight before going on air.
