What type of tools for what kind of work? Hand tools? Power tools? Specialised aircraft maintenance and repair tools? Or just cheap Chinese crap to use and break around your home??

These following people provide industrial quality tools of all types and brands... and they have lots of branches...

These following people run online auctions selling tools, tool cabinets and all kinds of associated items... I've never had any luck with them... I think their auction sale prices are too dear, and they have a lot of hidden charges...

Power Tools - Buy Power Tools Online, Power Tools Australia | GraysOnline Australia

eBay is a worthwhile suggestion. I buy most of my tools off eBay. I'm generally in no hurry, and I choose quality tools that sell at very good prices. I usually buy a lot of items directly from U.S. sellers.
I prefer American tools to any other brand, because American tool manufacturers (or at least... those still left in business... )... provide top quality items.

I recently purchased a set of Bondhus ball-end hex keys (Allen head keys) from the U.S., via eBay. They were AU$35.00 landed in my mailbox.
The quality is unbelievable (Bondhus make their own tool steel, and it's 20% stronger than the best tool steel), and the set is lifetime guaranteed.
You buy tools according to what you want to do with them... and if you're working on aircraft, you buy the best quality you can find.
