A year 1 capt hk based is on around $160aud. Thats after 12 years at cx.
If you have a family and want to live somewhere decent you need to rent therefore housing allowance is gone. You most likely will be topping up the rent to the tune of 6/7000 hkd per month.
See what a QF s/o gets and you'll quickly work out he is better off after 3 years in QF than a cx guy after 15.
With CX manipulating the housing away a HK based captain will be cheaper than an oz based F/O.
But they would never close the base, would they!!!
