Don't forget that the Flight Crew Licencing department is staffed by 'aviators' ie. those that are flown and never really fly - over 80% of them are ex RAF navigators, and we all know what navigators like to do to pilots!
We should all remember that navigators are a handy race of people, it gives the rest of the crew something to eat if you ever crash.
