With the advent of JAA, the Class 3 medical disappeared, and a PPL now requires a Class 2. . .I understand that holders of existing Class 3s, had some grandmother rights, in that they did not have to meet all the requirements for an initial issue of a JAA Class 2.. .Presumably the Class 2 requirement, has prevented some people from starting training for the JAA PPL, & they may be helped by the proposed NPPL.
