This mainly due to the hot and humid climate here, which means the will be at least one A/C unit running 24/7 (living room in the day and bedroom at night) for at least 6 months of the year. My last bill was $2500 for 2 months for a small flat. It also gets surprisingly cold in January and February (considering we are in tropical latitudes) and the apartments are concrete and glass, so no insulation; which results in heaters being on in the winter. The last couple of years the govt has subsidised, but unfortunately that has finished.
