Talking Final Word On Airlink

For all the negative comments about the management of Airlink Dubbo there are equally as many positives. It is true some "students" don't come through the character building sessions. But, what doesn't kill you has got to be good for you! Part of the reason they don't make it is because they don't believe in the high standards required.

The management will never give up on you if you don't give up on them. I only know of one dismissal, and that was due to a certain pilot breaking the "bottle to throttle" rule.

On more than a few occasions the management has met substantial cost of extra instrument renewal training. There is no charge for twin endorsements within the company - it is common for pilots to come with no twin time and leave with three endorsements.

I heard of one story of a bloke being hard up for cash and the owner advanced an unconditional loan of $1000.

Senior pilots in the company are offered twin aircraft to private hire at less than cost. When pilots leave it is not uncommon for the management to host a dinner free of charge. For those wanting to be involved in check and training, opportunities exist.

The final word here must be the professionalism of the operation. This and the attitude of mateship within the company is only fully appreciated when you leave.
