The Mach 1 is entirely appropriate for a helicopter. I tried that model, and while I eventually bought a Clarity Aloft, it worked fine. I just didn't like the earplugs that come with it as much as the Comply tips on the Clarity Aloft, as well as the overall design. Lightweight in-the-ear headsets are perfect for helicopters, because they provide better noise suppression than conventional headsets, and are much more comfortable after hours in the cockpit. Of the models I know about, the Clarity Aloft and Quiet Technologies are pretty much comparable, although the Clarity Aloft has slightly better build quality along with a higher price. The Mach 1 is in third place, although not that far behind. This ranking is entirely subjective and entirely my own, and I've seen reviews that rate the Mach 1 highest. It's mostly a matter of personal preference. I'll certainly never buy another conventional headset, either passive or ANR.
