A new road is out to tender from the border to Londonderry to link with the much improved link from Dublin to Monaghan. When completed, admittedly a few years away, it will blow a Dub-Ldy air route completely out of the water.
Sure even now, Aer Arann can't fill an ATR 42 from Dublin to Derry, so I could see that route getting the chop long before the new Dublin-Derry motorway is finished.
