Yes, it would, the disc will behave the same way, except that, of course you've got to be an awful lot quicker dumping the pole!
But your question is not as hypothetical as you think - some people going into hotel car parks in Robbies may well be in just that position one day - which is not, BTW, an invitation to go and practice it!
