If you are about to be an commercial pilot or instructor you should read the relevant material. No one here will give you the answer as you are about to become a professional aviator.

Standards Document 3 - for CPL testing

You will need the JAA CPL or the JAA PPL with 150 hours PIC. So you would need the JAA class 1 medical to be current to get your JAA CPL issued so you could start the FI course unless you are going to have 150 hrs PIC. You can test without the class one being current in accordance with standards document 3.

Remeber it is no one's responsibility other than yours to ensure you meet the relevant requirements.
