The cots are quite small and really more designed towards young infants. After take off, the crew will probably walk around and ask anyone with a child in a bassinet position seat if they require a bassinet or seat. The seat for the older infant can be put in 2 positions; either in a sitting up position or a flat position for the child to sleep. If the crew don't come around for any particular reason then just ask them to set one up for you
