They have just started the installation today. They are currently boring the holes into the mudflats on the lough, so it may be a while before it is complete.
Yes it will be a complete 5 bar installation, and the strobes are staying too. The main reason for this is so pilots can more positively identify the field on the approach to 26. Even with the warnings on the approach plates there have still been too many unwelcome descents into Ballykelly over the years

Would be great if we had an ATIS where an announcement could be made at the end of broadcast about the close proximity of Ballykelly. ILS25, don't BFS do that when 07 in use to warn about Langford Lodge?
