Until very recently the website was still listing Norwich as a crew base (it closed 18 months ago) so it was certainly due for an update. The timing may not be a coincidence, however. I would not be surprised if crystal balls and tea leaves are being pored over in Exeter, and they are at least considering the possibility of significant recruitment in the not too distant.
There's a fair bit of smoke and mirrors about just where the dozens of new E175s will be based - which may not be entirely unconnected with current pay negotiations
- but wherever they end up, there is little doubt that long term plans are for serious fleet expansion. Factor in the traditional rush for the exit whenever the job market picks up, and one doesn't need Hercule Poirot to work out why the recruitment page is suddenly bang up to date.
As for when it will happen, your guess is as good as mine. Personally I'd wait for BA to start DEP recruitment and start the stopwatch . . .
