Sue, I add my most humble condolences to you and the family. Darren was a friend ever since I first started on Pprune, and all the more so after the memorable Ozbash in 2002.
My most sincere condolences also to the family of Chris Hart who was also killed in the accident and with whom I sailed on the "Howard Smith" in the mid 1980s. "Choff", as he was known, was eminently competent and always ready to see the funny side of situations which had a habit of cropping up at short notice. I always enjoyed a voyage when he was Chief Mate.
My world is darkened by the loss of two friends. Time will not heal this wound.
