Perhaps "young" skol missed a comma or two ?

and during the flight I asked him for 10 left and right of track due weather on the datalink,
I have never seen weather on the datalink !

I guess he was asking the mature F/O to send a datalink (CPDLC) request for the deviations?

Clear instructions prevent confusion.
