Some facts

Air China plans on 500 Expats (yes that is correct!) eventually.
Just last week the 1st 2 330 Cp's renewed their 330 contracts. Their 2 years were up so that tells you they are happy after negotiating for 5 months.
The company DID try to change the T&C's by "trying" to reduce days off at Base, and a few other tricks.
The lastest is that we are all to fly 10 hrs. on inner Chinese sectors iso. just International. The "locals" are bitching that they are loosing too much $ due to them being bumped off these Int'l sectors.
The majority of us have said "No way to the inner Chinese sectors".
Almost all of the Expats here are "collective minded", so that means we have a pretty strong voice and they few who bend will not affect the majority.
The real bonus here is that the CAAC requires ALL Int'l sectors to be flown with double crews. So from an 80 hr. Block Month, you are actually 55% "in seat" the rest of your Duty is either bunking or relaxing.
Now when this all changes in the future to the world accepted 3 crew for long-haul, then the holiday will be over. Meaning you'll be working maybe 75% of the 80 hrs., performing more landings and being at risk of some form of penalties to their QAR monitoring.
The 744 Fleet seems to be run a lot different.
The Chinese portion of income tax is being paid which is at a rate of 20% of the Gross.
