They may just pick people randomly... who would want to read trough all applications? Each day the pile grows with a rate both CAE nor SAA can follow. Think about it, if Ryanair needs 200 pilots for 2011, CAE and SAA just dick in the pile and pick those suitable.
By adding a school report to the list of papers you need to have before applying is just a way to let those graduated a few years ago to find other places to apply, cause Ryanair only wants fresh from school people with a report of their performance. Imagine you call up your flightschool you've left a few years ago... they'll have a laugh, no one remembers you anyway and all the instructors had left for better jobs by now.
