While looking through the WWW for papers related to the 2010 AIAA GNC conference papers on LOC, I came across a RAeS FOG report from 2008 or later (there is no date on it) on upset recovery that I thought might interest some:

In Section 2.2.8 is a statement highlighted in boldface, about swept-wing aircraft, expressing what many have said here:
