1. Wasn't there a DC-9 a few years back went in after half the tail burnt off due to a fire getting in the space between a loo and the a/c skin? Not sure if it came from a bin fire or maybe an electrical short in the loo wiring but either way, it highlights the dangers of fire in such an area.
2. Didn't AF have 'smokers' bars' on their L/H a/c a few years back? I last flew L/H with them on a 744 & they had an area curtained off - thick curtains, extractor fans...
