Sorry mate but I have flown with many extendees and the vast majority absolutely should have retired at 55. It's one thing after a long flight keeping an eye on yourself let alone some old bloke who hasn't read the SOP's in f£&k knows how long but hates his wife enough to keep turning up for work.
