Our worthy public representatives on the City Council have been squabbling over what Cork Airport should be called. Now call me old fashioned but I'm pretty happy with "Cork Airport", it quite neatly describes where it is and what it is!
Seriously, is this the best our public reps can do with their time!? The country is on it's knees and they are debating whether it should be Terence McSwiney Airport or Jack Lynch Airport. If they wanted to talk about the airport then get moving on extra funding for infrastructure developments like the taxiway or runway extension, or implementing the various road improvements included in the LAP.
I know why they aren't/can't. It's because local government is little more than an ineffectual, powerless talking shop, this just proves it. (Rant over
