Yes, those that spotted it as a C-74 Globemaster 1 are correct. It was HP367 'Hercules' of Air Systems Panama.
Paul H pointed out the connection to the movie and Keith I knew would know about this one...because I culled some info from an old FlyPast forum post of his....
<<There were only three civil C 74s, all operated by "Air Systems, Panama" 42-65404, N3182G, HP-385, crashed Marseilles October 1963.
42-65408, N8199H, HP-367, dismantled Milan August 1972.
42-65409, N3181G, HP-379, salvaged Turin September 1970.
I am sure you all know HP-379 "starred" in the Michael Caine film "The Italian Job" and yes it is the one with the built in freight loading elevator in the hull ! >>
I remember in 'The Italian Job' it was pretending to be some obscure Chinese plane.
I added some Globemaster II photos to one of my posts on my website awhile back...but they were US Military ones of course. The C-74 wasn't made in such vast quantities...only 14 built.
